Falls Retreat Waihi Wedding

Another wedding in a new location (for me)! I could so see why Jodie and Dan chose the Falls Retreat in the Karangahake Gorge, Waihi for their wedding venue. There is so much to offer on the property and the surrounding areas. The nearby clearing under the trees over looking the nearby Owharoa Falls is where many choose to have their ceremony. Nearby you have the Ohinemuri River that runs through the Gorge, the nearby cycle trails and if you are not aware its a very historical area with the Victoria Battery just down the road also. (Dan loves this so we made sure we made some time to incorporate the ruins).

But what I loved about these two were the closeness of everyone, an easy going flow, fun attitude and yeah we had tears, yeah baby all natural, heartfelt and meaningful. After the ceremony Jodie’s adventurous can do attitude came out and over the rocks she went so we could get close to the falls. The boys were boys not taking a whole lot seriously. When we returned back to the Fall’s Retreat their guests were waiting while there was some beautiful light popping through the trees they got a chance for golden lit smooches.

But seriously if you are after a venue with a relaxed naturally rustic feel, gorgeous accommodation onsite and GREAT (and I mean GREAT food) check these guys out!
