As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of shooting countless weddings, but no venue holds a candle to the views and magic of Eagle Ridge Country Estate. Nestled above Tauranga with sweeping views of the Kaimai Ranges and Mount Maunganui, this venue is the definition of country elegance. The hosts Nig and Deb go above and beyond with their hospitality and service to ensure their clients and guests have the best day.
From the moment you arrive down the long tree lined driveway you’re welcomed by the charm of the countryside. The large reception hall with exposed beams and natural brickwork, perfect for a rustic yet elegant celebration. And if you’re envisioning an intimate gathering, their stunning 5-bedroom lodge—with each room boasting its own en suite—makes for a luxurious ‘home base’ for the wedding party.
Oh, and Did I Mention the Views?
Eagle Ridge is perched in the perfect spot for jaw-dropping vistas. Whether it’s the rolling countryside with their highland cows grazing or the shimmering ocean in the distance, this venue has it all. And if you’re lucky enough to get married during the birth of one of their adorable Highland calves, tradition has it that it will be named after you! How special is this!

But for me, as a photographer, it’s the sunsets that steal the show. The golden hour here is absolutely breathtaking—perfect for those unforgettable, dreamy wedding photos.

Did I mention Eagle Ridge also has a heli-pad? It’s one of those touches that adds a sense of luxury, but the venue never loses its laid-back, celebratory vibe. Nig and Deb have created a space that feels both grand and yet down-to-earth, making every couple feel like they belong.
